I try the pomodoros from time to time, especially when I seem to be flailing around in a creative panic and getting nothing done. The timer is a great motivator sometimes. And I do just as you seem to be doing: work until the ding, then get up and fold a batch of clothes or walk around outside or something. My one change iss to use a 15 minute timer. I frequently reset the timer instantly and end up working in 45 or 60 minute chunks between breaks. Good luck with rebalancing the load...
